Bhajanawali is a non-profit, charitable weekly webcasts aired every Sunday. Ever since the Bhajanawali Radio Program was started (April of 1981), as a non-profit, charitable radio program based on Vedic Religion and philosophy every Sunday from 06:30 PM to 07:30 PM (Eastern Standard Time) on the CJMR AM1320 in the Greater Toronto Area in Canada, we had been receiving requests from our listeners to somehow increase the coverage area of the broadcast beyond Toronto. Due to technical limitations, it was not feasible. With the introduction of latest technology though, we started this website in 1998 for our valued patrons who were not able to listen to their favourite program, Bhajanawali in their area.
Form 1998-2006 every week we presented the same radio program on the internet that we did on the radio. That simultaneous broadcast was available on the program's scheduled time, and also for the next four weeks on the internet. We also put popular discourses and bhajans on the website that were placed in our audio collection. Beginning 2007 we ended our radio broadcasts and continued with our weekly webcasts that is now heard worldwide by more than 10,000 people on a weekly basis. On some special occasions we produce more than 0ne special weekly webcast. For example in 2008 we produced 9 webcasts for each day of Shaardeeya Navaratra with complete recitation of Shri Durga Saptashati.
Our webcasts are produced by the Bhajanawali Devotional Services, which is a non-profit, charitable organization registered in Canada. To meet the costs incurred on our webcasts we rely completely on our listeners’ donations as there is no commercial in our webcasts. The donors receive charitable donation receipts for tax deductions in Canada. It is your continued help and donations that have made Bhajanawali maintain and improve itself on a regular basis ever since it came into existence. For example this improved and more interactive website is designed for your convenience.
